Interoperability between telehealth technology, mobile health devices, and the patient’s electronic health record is needed to enhance communication, workflows, and efficiency. As a result, new telehealth competencies are required and the national consortium of telehealth resource centers are filling that gap. In addition, frameworks and guidelines for telehealth competencies have been outlined by the American Nurses Association and other organizations.
